What films particularly appeal to the Millennial generation? Here's a quote I provided to a reporter recently (too late to be used) regarding the success of Titanic. I'm curious if any Indiespace members have particularly favorite films that appeal to the Millennial generation:
"Titanic is the first movie that 'spoke' to the Millennial generation [the youngest generation that has yet to come of age -- just after Gen X, and sometimes referred to as Gen Y]. In particular, this 'romantic fantasy' appealed to Millennial girls -- the oldest of which were just reaching puberty when the movie was released. The Millennial generation is the first to be dominated by girls rather than boys -- and Rose (the female heroine of Titanic) represents the ideal role model for these girls: strong, independent, determined, creative, and talented. After the main plot -- a rollercoaster thrill ride spiced with a 'first love' innocence -- has subsided, the last scene says it all: Looking at Rose's photos, we see that she has gone on to have a successful life full of personal achievement."
