Yea, the article isn't one-sided. "Mashup culture" is really cool - in fact, I teach electives in making mashups like Google Maps and the great Fundsrace 2008 site (amazing) using Ajax and PHP/MySQL. The problem is that as the amount of information increases, its quality declines. There's a great book (if caustic) by Andrew Keen called "The Cult of the Amateur" which addresses some of these issues.<br />

In monster terms, it makes you the cool, individualistic vampire, as opposed to the herd of sheeplike zombies. Interesting that GenX likes vampires best, while the new gen likes zombies best! This is a great article. I gave my iPhone a dirty look and called it a murder of nature! The City of Santa Fe (City Different) has an ordinance prohibiting using cell phones while driving within it's city limits. One of the council members was quoted, the reason we have an ordinance on cell phones in the city is we want visitors to admire our beautiful city and not be distracted by phones while driving.
